Why design your summer?
For many of us, summer arrives with good intentions and slips away faster than expected. The long days and looser schedules feel like an opportunity, but without some direction, they have a way of filling up on their own terms
A little planning changes that. Choosing a theme, making a list of things you want to do, and deciding what you want from the season shifts summer from something that just happens into something you shape. Research on happiness consistently shows that anticipation is one of the most reliable sources of pleasure: having things to look forward to makes the days feel richer, even before they arrive.
Summer also tends to disrupt routines — travel, school breaks, schedule changes. That's worth thinking about in advance. Which habits do you want to hold onto? Which can you put on pause, with a plan to pick back up in the fall? Deciding ahead of time is easier than trying to recover momentum after the fact.
